August Schools launches first AI agent to streamline K-12 student wellbeing management

August Schools has released a new AI tool designed to support administrative teams in K–12 education with real-time data insights and automation.

The product, called August Intelligence, is described by the company as the first AI agent built specifically for student wellbeing management in schools. The tool allows staff such as counselors and administrators to query their student data directly, receive immediate summaries, and automate routine tasks including report generation and communication drafting.

The system is integrated into the August Schools SaaS platform, which supports documentation and coordination for student wellbeing efforts. According to the company, the agent works across fragmented data sets to provide centralized access to insights that inform interventions and resource allocation.

Peter Russell, CEO and Co-founder of August Schools, said:

“August Intelligence is a game-changer. The future of school software is agentic AI that lets users take actions and derive deep insight from datasets and various applications across the school ecosystem. August Intelligence turns fragmented data into real-time decision-making power, allowing schools to proactively address student needs, optimize resources, and drive better outcomes at scale.”

Privacy and security built into AI integration

August Schools is SOC 2 certified, and the company states that August Intelligence follows the same standards for data privacy and security. The tool is intended to give school personnel more decision-making support while reducing the time spent on manual administrative work.

Founded in New York City in 2021 by Russell and Aaron Hammond, August Schools has worked with school districts across the United States. Its new AI agent represents an extension of its core mission to modernize how schools manage student support.
