Twinkl to offer free UK access to Natterhub as schools tackle online safety pressures

Move comes amid rising concern over children’s digital wellbeing following increased public scrutiny
Twinkl has announced that all primary schools in the UK will receive 12 months of free access to Natterhub, its award-winning digital safety education platform.
The offer is available until the end of April 2025 and aims to support schools in addressing online harms facing young children.
The decision follows heightened public interest in children’s online safety, triggered in part by the recent release of the Netflix drama Adolescence, which explores the risks young people face in digital environments.
Online safety as early intervention
Natterhub is designed to support primary educators in delivering age-appropriate lessons on topics including data protection, cyberbullying, grooming, and digital coercion. The platform includes interactive tools such as quizzes and scenario-based learning to help children understand and navigate online risks. It aligns with the UK national curriculum and is structured to complement existing teaching frameworks.
Twinkl, founded in 2010, supplies teaching resources and education tools to schools in over 190 countries. Natterhub is one of several products offered by the company, alongside platforms such as Educake and Elevate.
Jonathan Seaton, CEO at Twinkl, commented:
“Educators have been supporting pupils and families in this important area for many years, and we, at Twinkl, share the passion for preparing children for real world readiness. Natterhub offers a comprehensive solution for educators that aligns with our mission to foster safe and thriving learning environments for all young people.”
Focus on emotional and social literacy in digital spaces
Natterhub lessons focus on developing children’s social and emotional skills as they engage with digital content. The platform’s early intervention model encourages teachers to introduce digital citizenship and resilience concepts before children encounter more complex online environments.
Caroline Allams, Co-founder at Natterhub, said:
“The primary school years are a critical period for social and emotional development, so we are proud to support educators to equip children to manage social and emotional scenarios in digital settings. Natterhub is all about the human aspects of being a digital citizen.”
