Educake appoints Nicola Allen as MD to drive uptake of online assessment technology in schools
Educake, an online assessment platform, has announced the appointment of Nicola Allen as its new Managing Director. She was previously head of sales and marketing for five years, during which time the EdTech firm grew to support 1,300 secondary schools. It was taken over by Twinkl in 2023 to aid its international expansion outside the UK.
Educake is a resource for educators, offering over 100,000 auto-marked, curriculum-linked questions including for key subjects like maths, English, and science.
The platform is designed to save teachers crucial time, reduce workload, and provide actionable insights into student performance. It is used for low-stakes quizzing and information gathering by over half a million students every month to provide assessment data.
A new analysis tool launched this year is designed deepen the insights into class performances and to pinpoint where students may need extra support, especially ahead of exams. Educake also recently announced its integration with school software system, Wonde. This will enable seamless compatibility with schools’ wider IT infrastructures, further enhancing accessibility and data access for teachers.
