Raptor Technologies debuts DismissalSafe to tackle safety and oversight gaps in school dismissals
New software aims to improve student security and staff oversight during school dismissals across U.S. campuses
Raptor Technologies, a U.S.-based provider of school safety and student wellbeing software, has launched a new product designed to reduce risks during end-of-day student dismissals. The platform, Raptor DismissalSafe, is now part of the company’s broader School Safety Suite.
Dismissals are widely recognized as high-risk times on school grounds. According to the National Safety Council, more than 50,000 parking lot crashes occur each year, many involving pickup zones and school traffic. Raptor DismissalSafe is intended to bring real-time monitoring, digital communication, and audit trails to dismissal activities involving car lines, bus boarding, and after-school programs.
Dismissal management features
The software includes a combination of features for staff and parents, such as dismissal dashboards for classroom teachers, QR code scanning via staff mobile apps, and a parent app for managing pickup authorizations and receiving updates.
Chris Noell, chief product officer at Raptor Technologies, says: “Raptor DismissalSafe empowers schools to safeguard their students while improving efficiency for staff and parents. By streamlining carline automation, bus management and activity management and by digitally connecting parents and staff, schools can improve safety and operational efficiency.”
The tool is designed to support varying schedules through customizable workflows and integration with existing campus systems. Dismissal activity is logged and stored, giving schools digital audit trails for policy compliance and reporting purposes.
Apps for parents and staff
Two integrated mobile applications support the platform. The Raptor Safe app is used by parents to manage pickup times and permissions, while the Raptor Staff app allows school staff to scan student IDs, update bus manifests, and coordinate dismissal procedures on the go.
To assist with adoption, Raptor is offering a suite of marketing and onboarding tools for schools, including videos, posters, email templates, and social media assets aimed at encouraging parental engagement.
The company says the product launch follows the recent introduction of Raptor Badge Alert and is part of its continuing expansion into campus operations and student safety.
Gray Hall, chief executive officer at Raptor Technologies, says: “School dismissals are one of the most chaotic and high-risk periods of the school day. Raptor DismissalSafe equips schools to improve management and oversight of carline, bus boarding and after-school activities, making it safer for students and less stressful for staff and parents. This innovation underscores our mission to protect every child, every school, every day.”
