Nex and Sesame Workshop collaborate to launch educational games for Nex Playground

Nex, a motion technology company, has partnered with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit organisation behind Sesame Street, to launch a new series of educational games for the Nex Playground console.

These games will join the current catalog of over 20 titles available with a Play Pass subscription and focus on enhancing various aspects of child development, such as motor skills, cognitive skills, and academic skills.

The first game from this collaboration, "Elmo Says," is now available. This game features Elmo and aims to help children improve their executive function skills, including listening, focused attention, and self-control.

Children are challenged to either mimic certain prompts or remain still, based on Elmo's instructions. Next month, "Elmo & Abby’s Magical Letter Hunt" will be released, where players join Elmo and Abby Cadabby on an adventure to collect letters by flapping their arms to soar through the sky.

Gabriela Arenas, Sesame Workshop SVP Global Licensing, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration:

“We are thrilled to team up with Nex to produce these innovative new games that promote core child development skills, including active listening, body awareness, and letter recognition. We know that kids learn best when both their mind and body are fully engaged and having fun.”

Nex Playground, now available for purchase on Amazon, aims to turn screen time into active playtime, fostering movement and learning in an interactive way. Since its launch, Nex Playground has gained popularity among families with young children due to its easy setup and motion-powered gameplay, making it accessible for all ages. The console is also kidSAFE+ COPPA certified, highlighting the company's commitment to privacy and safety for children and families.

David Lee, co-founder and CEO of Nex, highlighted the positive reception of Nex Playground:

“Since launching Nex Playground late last year, we’ve grown a loyal fanbase of not only parents and their children, but also teachers and child development specialists who have been looking for more interactive educational resources.

“This makes our collaboration with Sesame Workshop especially timely, as we are able to tap into their iconic characters and bring them to life in new and interactive ways for children to engage with. We’re thrilled to have these new games launch in conjunction with our availability on Amazon, just in time for families looking to stay active indoors during summer heat waves.”
