Pathify expands student portal control with Delegated Access for families and advisors

Pathify adds Delegated Access feature to expand user-controlled sharing in student portals

Pathify has launched Delegated Access, a new feature within its Delegate Hub platform that enables students to assign limited, read-only access to specific areas of their digital portal.

The release is aimed at improving visibility for parents, advisors, and other authorized individuals without compromising data control.

Pathify develops cloud-based engagement software used by higher education institutions to centralize access to systems such as student information platforms (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), and messaging tools. Its flagship product, the Engagement Hub, integrates with more than 100 campus systems and serves as a central interface for students, faculty, and staff.

Controlled third-party access to student-facing platforms

Delegated Access allows students to choose who can view selected items in their portal, including task lists, campus announcements, and academic tools. Access is view-only and configured by the student. Authorized individuals, such as family members, coaches, or academic advisors, use the same portal environment rather than a separate interface or account.

Pathify describes the feature as a way to reduce reliance on credential sharing, while still allowing families or advisors to stay informed on key student responsibilities. The company positions it as a more integrated alternative to standalone access systems or disconnected third-party portals.

Chase Williams, CEO and Co-founder of Pathify, said, “Students need support systems and institutions need tools that balance engagement with privacy. Delegated Access bridges the gap between students and their families or caregivers while keeping institutions in full control of compliance and data access.”

FERPA compliance and institutional oversight

The feature is available to institutions that have enabled Delegate Hub and can be configured through the Pathify Admin Center. Institutions maintain oversight of provisioning, while students control individual access settings from their accounts.

Pathify states that Delegated Access is designed to support FERPA compliance by limiting access to read-only formats and embedding permission controls directly within its platform.
