LiquidText launches real-time collaboration tools for academic research and learning
New functionality supports shared annotation and analysis across education and research environment.
LiquidText, a platform used by educators and students for document analysis, has launched functionality that allows multiple users to work on the same project simultaneously. The update is intended to support collaborative tasks in higher education and academic research, including joint literature reviews, group projects, and co-authored papers.
LiquidText is a document analysis platform that enables users to read, annotate, compare, and organize complex information from multiple sources in one unified interface. Frequently used in education and research, the tool allows users to drag excerpts into a workspace, link ideas across documents, and compile notes while maintaining context.
Users can now annotate documents together in real time, communicate through tagged comments, and view each other’s actions live through on-screen activity indicators. The tool also enables private note-taking alongside shared annotations, allowing individuals to control when and how their contributions are made visible to others.
The feature is also being promoted for use in legal, financial, and healthcare settings, where time-sensitive collaboration is required during case preparation, document negotiation, or clinical decision-making.
Field-tested with input from legal professionals
LiquidText developed the new functionality through feedback from international users, including WongPartnership, a Singapore-based law firm that contributed to both the design and beta testing phases.
Chou Sean Yu, Deputy Managing Partner and Head of Litigation and Dispute Resolution at WongPartnership LLP, says: “At WongPartnership, innovation has always been a core priority as we firmly believe in the transformative opportunities that new technologies bring. As an early adopter of LiquidText, we were pleased to assist in beta testing LiquidText's real-time collaboration tools, which have already made a significant impact by streamlining workflows for our litigation and case preparation teams. We look forward to further enhancing efficiencies as the solution evolves.”
Availability and access options
The real-time collaboration update became available on April 16. Existing subscriptions include access for one collaborator per project. For expanded use, LiquidText has launched a new Unlimited+ tier along with enterprise plans.
Craig Tashman, CEO of LiquidText, says: “We designed real-time collaboration specifically for high-stakes, fast-moving environments, where every second counts. With feedback and validation from professionals around the world, we are confident this update will set a new standard for document collaboration.”
