ManagedMethods rolls out Classroom Manager to help teachers monitor student screen use

Classroom Manager gives teachers more control over student browser activity and online instruction
ManagedMethods has launched Classroom Manager, a cloud-based tool designed to help K–12 teachers manage student activity on school devices during lessons.
The release comes as schools face increasing challenges balancing online learning and student engagement.
ManagedMethods provides cybersecurity, safety, and compliance tools for K–12 schools using Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Its products are used by district IT teams to monitor threats, enforce safety policies, and support safe learning environments.
Real-time control during class sessions
Classroom Manager offers teachers visibility into student browser activity and allows for real-time control of open tabs, access to URLs, and customizable settings. The platform supports both individual and group-level interactions and includes a “Scenes” feature for managing differentiated access during project work or guided instruction.
Teachers can override preset blocking rules without requiring input from the IT department and apply custom filters based on class needs. A new admin panel provides an overview of active classes and allows shared settings to be passed to substitute teachers.
Charlie Sander, CEO of ManagedMethods, said:
“After an extensive period of planning and development, we are delighted to bring Classroom Manager to K–12 schools across the country. Our latest product offers a comprehensive suite of features that have been directly mapped to help educators excel at online classroom learning without compromising the safety or security of students.”
The platform integrates with ManagedMethods’ AI-powered Content Filter, which detects inappropriate or harmful online behavior and enforces compliance with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and E-rate program guidelines. Content Filter can flag online activity related to bullying, self-harm, or explicit content.
