Troomi appoints Tyler Leishman as its new CSO dedicated to digital wellness

Troomi, a provider of phones and software that offer a controlled, safe digital experience to kids that negates cyberbullying and promotes healthy tech habits, has a new Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Tyler Leishman, a Master of Health Administration (MHA) and present operating officer (COO) at Riley Children’s Health in Indiana, US, is an experienced professional that will lead the firm’s efforts to advance digital wellness and empower families with solutions that are designed to support mental wellness.

There is a growing mental health crisis among children and adolescents due to the proliferation of social media, prompting body and societal pressures on youngsters, alongside the ever-present grade pressures and, in some cases, the isolation caused by Covid-19 induced lockdowns.

Tyler Leishman, Troomi’s new CSO, thinks that better, safer digital experiences can help alleviate some of these pressures.

Nearly half of children facing mental health challenges receive no treatment due to workforce shortages, access barriers, and fragmented care systems. These gaps leave families struggling to manage issues like anxiety, depression, and the effects of excessive screen time on their own. Troomi is committed to addressing these systemic shortcomings by equipping families with tools and resources that foster healthier relationships with technology, prioritize mental wellness, and empower parents to proactively support their children before challenges escalate.

“In my career, I’ve seen the profound challenges posed by the mental health crisis in children, from workforce shortages to outdated care models that cannot keep up with rising demand,” said Leishman, on attaining his new position. “Troomi’s upstream approach—leveraging innovative technology to empower families and provide resources before crises occur—is exactly what we need. It’s a scalable, evidence-based solution that aligns with the best practices I’ve advocated for throughout my career.”

As well as being COO at Riley Children’s Health in Indiana, US, Leishman is also its CSO and Vice President, leading strategic and operational initiatives to address pediatric healthcare challenges, such as mental and behavioral health. He was previously employed at the Children’s Hospital, Colorado, as VP of strategic provider integration and Executive Director of the Pediatric Care Network that was tasked with aligning providers across a multistate region.

Commenting on his appointment, Bill Brady, CEO of Troomi, said: “Tyler’s expertise in addressing systemic challenges in pediatric care and his passion for innovation will be pivotal in helping us expand our offerings. His leadership reinforces our commitment to supporting mental health and fostering meaningful family connections [via enhanced digital wellness].”
