Televerde Foundation bags large laptop donation to aid women reentering society after incarceration

Televerde Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to aiding women impacted by incarceration in the USA, has announced a significant donation from PlanITROI.

The partnership involves an annual donation of 350 laptops from PlanITROI’s Digital Dreams Project. These laptops will be provided to graduates of Televerde Foundation’s PATHS (Prepare, Achieve, and Transform for Healthy Success) programme to support their reintegration into society.

The Digital Dreams Project, established by PlanITROI, aims to create a digitally inclusive world by providing affordable technology to underserved communities. Since 2011, the project has delivered over 600,000 devices, promoting digital literacy and access.

Michelle Cirocco, executive director of Televerde Foundation, highlighted the importance of this contribution:

, "This partnership with PlanITROI & DDP dramatically enhances our ability to equip our PATHS graduates with the tools they need to succeed. These laptops are more than just pieces of technology. They are keys to unlocking potential, opening doors to education, employment, and empowerment."

In society, access to technology is crucial for personal and professional development. According to a study by the Prison Policy Initiative, individuals who have been incarcerated often face significant financial challenges, with a median annual income notably lower than that of non-incarcerated individuals.

Access to technology and computer literacy are essential for improving their employment prospects and facilitating successful reintegration.

The PATHS programme at Televerde Foundation addresses this by providing women in prison with the necessary skills and certifications for technology-driven workplaces.

Graduates receive ongoing support, including further education and job placement assistance. The donation of 350 laptops annually from PlanITROI will significantly bolster these efforts, providing essential tools for these women to reenter society and pursue meaningful careers.

Paul Baum, CEO and Founder of PlanITROI, emphasised the company's commitment to social impact:

"At PlanITROI, we are committed to creating positive social impact through our services. We believe in the power of giving back, and our collaboration with Televerde Foundation, facilitated through our Digital Dreams Project, is a perfect example of how recycled technology can drive change and offer new beginnings."
