Safal Partners secures $8.7 Million contract to revitalise National Homeless Education Center in USA

The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Safal Partners an $8.7 million contract to oversee the revitalisation of the National Technical Assistance Center for Homeless Education (NTACHE).

ThE initiative is part of an effort to improve support for the more than 1.2 million students experiencing homelessness in U.S. public schools. Safal Partners will manage the project over the next year, with the possibility of extending the contract for three additional years.

Safal Partners will lead the modernisation of NTACHE, focusing on improving project management, technical assistance, training, website maintenance and redesign, as well as data analysis. The aim is to enhance the centre’s ability to support state and local education agencies in addressing the needs of homeless students.

This comes at a crucial time as homelessness among students continues to rise, putting pressure on school districts and local communities. NTACHE is tasked with supporting state and local coordinators as they implement the McKinney-Vento Act, a law designed to ensure that homeless students have equal access to education.

Safal Partners will apply its expertise in education assistance and data-driven decision-making to strengthen NTACHE’s capabilities. This enhanced support is expected to help educators nationwide in implementing the McKinney-Vento Act more effectively, improving educational outcomes for students who are homeless.

The McKinney-Vento Act ensures that students experiencing homelessness can access the same free public education as their peers. However, schools often face difficulties in providing adequate support due to resource limitations and the growing number of homeless students. The newly revitalised NTACHE will work to offer educators the tools and training necessary to address these challenges more effectively.

As part of the project, Safal Partners will focus on equipping state and local agencies with resources and strategies to improve the educational experience for homeless students. The centre’s updated framework will provide ongoing training and support to educators, helping them better understand and address the specific needs of homeless youth.

The partnership also aims to improve data collection and analysis, which will allow schools and agencies to track the progress of homeless students and make informed decisions about how to best support them. This approach is designed to ensure that both short-term needs and long-term goals are met, with a focus on closing educational gaps for homeless students.

Safal Partners' approach is grounded in its commitment to equity and providing meaningful, data-driven solutions. The company has a strong track record of working with federal programmes and providing educational technical assistance to improve outcomes for underserved populations.

"Our goal is to create a system that empowers educators and provides homeless students with the resources and support they need to "We are honoured to have the opportunity to lead this vital effort," said Mukta Pandit, Founder and CEO of Safal Partners.

"Our team is eager to serve the U.S. Department of Education and make a meaningful impact for educators and the children and youth they support. We are ready to apply our expertise, foster innovation, and build a robust, data-driven NTACHE that truly addresses the needs of students experiencing homelessness and their families."
