Digital Ready teams up with Varsity Tutors to offer free tutoring and academic resources for students

Digital Ready has partnered with Varsity Tutors for Schools, an online tutoring platform under Nerdy, to provide students with free access to academic support resources throughout the school year.

The partnership will help students strengthen their understanding of academic subjects and prepare them for future college and career opportunities.

The Varsity Tutors for Schools platform offers a variety of tools, including 24/7 on-demand tutoring, live classes, and personalised learning plans. Through this partnership, students will have access to resources that supplement classroom learning and offer additional support for those struggling with specific subjects.

"Access to Varsity Tutors for Schools platform is an indispensable resource for our young people as they move along their college and career pathways," said Patrick Nugent, Manager of Student Success at Digital Ready. "Access to on-demand academic support will ensure they deepen their understanding of critical academic content that is needed to succeed in rigorous STEM fields and prepare them for college and career."

The platform features several tools that can be accessed by students and schools, including:

  • 24/7 On-Demand Chat Tutoring: Students can get instant help with their homework or academic challenges at any time.

  • On-Demand Essay Review: A service to provide students with feedback on their essays to improve their writing skills.

  • Live Enrichment and Remediation Classes: Classes aimed at helping students strengthen their grasp of key concepts.

  • SAT and ACT Test Prep Classes: Focused classes to prepare students for standardised tests required for college admissions.

  • Self-Study Resources: Students can access materials and tools to guide their learning independently.

  • College and Career Readiness Resources: Tools designed to help students plan for life after high school, including college preparation and career guidance.

The platform is currently used by more than 500 school districts across the United States. Students can work one-on-one with tutors, participate in small group sessions, or access high-dosage tutoring through the platform.

Digital Ready is a Boston-based organisation that focuses on providing high school students, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in STEM fields and other career paths.

“Varsity Tutors for Schools delivers a rich set of learning options to deploy for all students,” said Anthony Salcito, Chief Institutional Officer at Varsity Tutors for Schools. “Our comprehensive platform access is now available to all K-12 schools at no cost, allowing them to budget for targeted intervention with best-in-class high-dosage tutoring options, including flexible implementation models that can put administrative staff, teachers, or parents at the center of the high-dosage tutoring relationship, depending on the needs of the district.”
