Operation HOPE and Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business have announced the AI Literacy Pipeline to Prosperity Project (AILP3).

Operation HOPE is a non-profit organization providing financial literacy and economic empowerment to underserved communities. The initiative will equip underserved populations with the skills needed to thrive in an economy increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.

AILP3 will provide AI-focused educational programming and resources for students from kindergarten to college. The initiative will also offer support for families affected by AI-driven job loss and promote financial literacy through Operation HOPE’s services. The project is a collaboration between corporate, academic, technology, and government partners, including members of the AI Ethics Council.

Richard Phillips, Dean of the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, highlighted the importance of equitable access to AI education:

“Artificial intelligence has already impacted every aspect of our lives and economy. Equitable access to AI education and the development of an innovation mindset is essential to provide the maximum social, educational, humanitarian, and financial benefits of this transformative technology as AI’s influence rapidly increases.

“We are excited to partner with Operation HOPE – a leader in leveling the economic playing field for underserved communities – and its AI Ethics Council to form AILP3. The outcomes will be increased access to AI jobs, diversity in AI talent, and a reduction of economic inequality as we navigate further into the growth of the AI economy.”

The initiative includes several key programs:

  • AI Curriculum and Immersion Programs: Developed for K-12 students and college learners in collaboration with educators and AI industry experts.

  • Skills Development: Programs to help students and families adapt to AI-related job market changes.

  • Financial Literacy: Education provided by Operation HOPE to build lifelong financial skills.

  • AI Scholarships and Apprenticeships: Opportunities for students to further their education and gain practical experience in AI-related fields.

Once fully implemented in Atlanta and across Georgia, AILP3 is intended to serve as a model for national expansion.

John Hope Bryant, founder and CEO of Operation HOPE, emphasized the initiative's alignment with the organization’s mission:

“For 30 years, Operation HOPE has provided youth financial literacy services to millions as part of our mission to empower the next generation with the tools and resources to build lifelong financial wellbeing and expand economic opportunity for all. Now, with AILP3, we are seeking to apply our longstanding mission to give young people the opportunity to participate and prosper in this new world of AI.

“We are honored to partner with Georgia State University and the Robinson College of Business – one of the most respected and forward-thinking institutions in the country – on this critical initiative.”
