How to improve your online browsing experience: top browser choices, add-ons, and shortcuts

You might think that your online experience is already as good as it can get - after all, everything from browsing the news to binge-watching your favorite shows can happen in seconds, and it’s all there right in front of you.

However, the truth is that the quality of your online experience can vary massively depending on which browser you use, what settings you tweak, and much more, so it could be that you could boost your online experience and make it even better. With that in mind, keep reading to find out how to do it.

Choose The Right Browser

There’s a big question you’ll need to find the right answer to if you want to boost your online experience, and it really needs to be the first thing you ask - Chrome vs Safari? It’s true that both browsers will pretty much do what you need them to do, and both browsers have a loyal fanbase who’ll tell you why one is better than the other, but they both have pros and cons, and it’s worth investigating them properly to find out what they are - that’s going to help you make the right choice and make your browsing experience better as a result.

Chrome, for example, is known for being fast and it’s got loads of features, plus you can customize it to make it easier to use for whatever it is you might need it for. On the other hand, Safari is liked because it’s simple, it’s got some great privacy settings, and it’s easy to use on all Apple devices, which can be a big bonus when you’re trying to sync everything up. As you can see, working out which is best for you is going to depend on a lot of things, including what you go online to do most of the time, so take time to research the browser options and you’ll already be one step ahead.

Make Use Of Add-Ons And Extensions

Something else that’s going to help make your online experience a better one is to make as much use as you can of add-ons and extensions, depending on what’s available for your needs (and the browser you’re using - this could actually be another way to determine the browser for you, in fact).

So what is it you really want from your browser? Do you want to block ads? Do you want to save articles for later? Do you want to be more productive? Do you need more artistic space? Whatever it is, there’s sure to be an extension or add-on to help you, and it’s well worth downloading the ones that are going to give you the best online experience sooner rather than later, as that gives you time to work out how to use them and to experiment until you find the perfect ones for you - at that point, things will get faster, easier, and perhaps more fun too.

Use Keyboard Shortcuts

No matter which browser you decide to use, you’ll be able to set up some keyboard shortcuts (or use the ones that already exist) to make things a lot quicker for you, and once you start, you’ll wonder how you ever did without.

Some of the most common include Ctrl+T to open a new tab, Ctrl+W to close the current tab, and Ctrl+L to highlight the URL bar, and they can be really handy when you’re hopping from page to page - but there are loads more and mastering just a few of them can speed up your time online; remember, a few seconds here and there can really add up.
