Greg Jackson to deliver renewable energy lessons to thousands of UK students

Greg Jackson, founder of Octopus Energy, is delivering virtual lessons to thousands of students across the UK and Northern Ireland this week.

The sessions focus on renewable energy, sustainability, and climate change, providing a platform for students to engage with critical topics shaping the future of the planet.

These virtual sessions, conducted via Zoom, target primary and secondary students, aiming to enhance understanding of renewable energy systems, energy efficiency, and the role of individuals and institutions in tackling climate change.

Encouraging climate awareness

Jackson, who was a guest on the long-running UK political show, Question Time last week, transitioned from leaving school at 16 to studying economics at Cambridge.

He commented the importance of empowering young people to address climate issues:

“Climate change is the biggest challenge of our lifetime, and it requires more than one generation to tackle it. With these lessons, we aim to spark curiosity and show how they can drive the change we need. And I’m sure their questions will be every bit as challenging as the ones on Question Time.”
