Forest Charter School expands access to academic support with Varsity Tutors partnership

Forest Charter School has formed a partnership with Varsity Tutors for Schools, a platform provided by Nerdy, to expand tutoring resources for all students.

Through this collaboration, Forest Charter students can access live and on-demand tutoring, offering academic assistance across a range of subjects and study areas.

The Varsity Tutors platform includes features such as 24/7 on-demand chat tutoring, essay review, live enrichment classes, test preparation, and self-study resources. Students can also utilise adaptive assessments and college and career readiness support.

These tools are aimed at providing academic support outside of traditional classroom hours, allowing students to seek help as needed.

“Varsity Tutors for Schools delivers a rich set of learning options to deploy for all students,” said Anthony Salcito, Chief Institutional Officer at Varsity Tutors for Schools. “Our comprehensive platform access is available to all K-12 schools and opens a gateway for targeted intervention with best-in-class high-dosage tutoring options, including flexible implementation models that can put administrative staff, teachers, or parents at the center of the high-dosage tutoring relationship, depending on the needs of the district.”

Varsity Tutors for Schools works with over 500 school districts nationwide, offering resources to supplement classroom learning and address specific academic needs. Students using the platform can participate in individualised tutoring, access live and recorded classes, and receive targeted support in areas such as test preparation and skills development.

“Access to the Varsity Tutors for Schools platform can be an invaluable resource in those moments when students need assistance, but cannot get one-on-one time with their Supervising Teacher,” said Dawn Anthney, Academic Dean at Forest Charter. “We encourage students to take advantage of access to live human tutors, as well as the wide library of live and on demand classes to support the subjects they are studying or the passions they are pursuing.”
