Anthology has partnered with Obrizum, a Cambridge-based artificial intelligence and analytics company, to integrate Obrizum’s adaptive learning technology into the Blackboard learning management system.

The collaboration, announced at Anthology’s 2024 user conference will offer millions of students and educators around the world a more personalised learning experience powered by advanced AI.

Anthology’s partnership with Obrizum focuses on using AI to develop tailored learning journeys for students while providing valuable insights for educators. Obrizum’s adaptive learning platform, known for its use across various industries, will be embedded into Blackboard, enabling institutions to offer more efficient course development, improved student engagement, and enhanced teaching strategies.

According to Dr. Chibeza Agley, Chief Executive Officer of Obrizum:

"We are incredibly proud to provide our unique adaptive learning solutions to Anthology, enabling the delivery of deeply personalized learning journeys and rich analytical insights built on strong foundations of high-quality data to millions of learners and instructors worldwide."

"This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission to be the global leader in measuring human learning in digital environments. By closing the measurement gap and improving the quality of data that supports decisions, we help people live happier, safer, and more fulfilling lives."

Obrizum’s explainable AI technology is expected to help both students and educators by analysing learning patterns and offering adaptive content, allowing for more personalised instruction.

Anthology plans to leverage this integration to expand the scope of AI-powered learning, addressing a growing demand for advanced educational tools that improve outcomes for institutions globally.

Anthology’s Chief Product Officer, Nicolaas Matthijs, shared the company’s vision of how the partnership will transform educational practices. "By integrating Obrizum’s core technologies with our expertise, we’re aligning with the future of education, where institutions are increasingly looking to diversify their offerings and better meet evolving student expectations."

The team up is part of Anthology’s broader mission to advance innovation in educational technology. Obrizum’s AI platform will be deployed across tens of millions of users on Blackboard, providing them with access to adaptive learning tools that are expected to improve competency and enhance learning experiences.

Obrizum’s technology includes intelligent course curation, diagnostic analytics, and immersive learning capabilities that help create a more dynamic and engaging learning environment. These tools will allow educators to track student progress in real-time, improving the way lessons are delivered and allowing for timely interventions when necessary.

“Our goal is clear: to continue leading the charge in AI-driven EdTech innovation, ensuring every learner and educator has access to the most impactful tools for success," added Matthijs.
