Timekettle's AI translation devices enhance inclusivity in Texas schools
In a bid to support inclusivity in education, Timekettle has introduced its AI translator earbuds to the Olney Independent School District (Olney ISD) in Texas.
The district serves a diverse student body, with many languages spoken by students from countries like Venezuela, Argentina, and Mexico. To improve communication and engagement in the classroom, Timekettle is utilising its X1 AI Interpreter Hub.
Olney ISD has always aimed to provide equitable education to all its students, but language barriers have often posed significant challenges. To combat this, the district has adopted the X1 AI Interpreter Hub, a standalone device that facilitates hands-free conversations and provides one-tap handheld translation.
The new technology allows teachers to maintain visibility while delivering lessons, ensuring that translations are accurate and that students fully understand the material.
"The device makes it very easy for us to speak, and then for each and every individual to be able to hear in their own language and to understand," said Veronica Fobbs, a teacher at Olney ISD.
Elementary Principal Matt Caffey highlighted the system’s ability to deliver real-time content directly to students, eliminating the need for third-party translation. "It uniquely provides real-time content directly, which no other system has been able to deliver before," he stated.
Students at Olney ISD have also noticed the benefits. Naibelyn Hernandez, a student, shared how the device has enhanced her learning experience: "It helps me understand my teacher, who can express herself well when speaking to me."
Timekettle, established in 2016, focuses on bridging language gaps and facilitating cross-cultural communication through its advanced technology. The company’s products are designed to support inclusivity in various sectors, including education.
