Sunflower Bank’s ABC Program donates over $132,000 to support K-12 schools and students
Sunflower Bank recently announced its contributions of over $132,000 to benefit K-12 education through its ABC Program for Education.
The donations, aimed at supporting both schools and students, include $103,590 given to schools that participated in the 2023-2024 school year campaign and $28,500 provided directly to students through the “Pay for As” drawings, an initiative rewarding academic achievement.
Since the program began in 2001, Sunflower Bank has donated over $1.8 million to education in the communities it serves, encompassing both its own and First National 1870 branches.
The ABC Program’s 2024-2025 campaign introduces additional funding opportunities. Customers can designate an ABC-registered school to receive $0.02 for each eligible debit card transaction. New Elevation Checking accounts, opened with a qualifying school code, will earn a $5 donation for that school.
Sstudents from kindergarten through 12th grade can bring report cards to any branch twice a year to participate in “Pay for As” drawings, where they can receive $10 for each A, up to $100. If the winning student’s school participates in the ABC Program, it also receives a matching donation.
Mollie Carter, Sunflower Bank’s Executive Chairman, stated:
“Sunflower Bank’s ABC Program for Education continues to highlight our commitment to our youth and their academic success. Our bank is passionate about the support we provide to our communities and helping K-12 schools raise direct funds has been a core component of that support since 2001.
“We take pride in the $1.8 million we have donated over the years and look forward to continuing to grow that number as we support our schools and students.”
