Mouser Electronics fuels STEM education with innovative calculation tools for Mansfield ISD

Mouser Electronics has announced continued support for the Mansfield Independent School District (MISD) Education Foundation, providing cutting-edge resources for STEM education during the 2024-25 academic year.

The initiative includes the donation of Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE calculators with Python coding capabilities to Lake Ridge High School students.

The calculators will be incorporated into classes such as Algebra 2, AP Pre-Calculus, Statistics, and Biology, enabling approximately 500 students to gain hands-on experience in coding, data analysis, and advanced problem-solving.

Mouser is also supplying TI-Innovator Hubs, Rovers, Calculator-Based Rangers, and Vernier EasyTemp® probes, providing tools for data collection and analysis in scientific experiments.

Kevin Hess, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Mouser Electronics, highlighted the company’s commitment to fostering STEM education:

"Because of our strong partnerships with the Mansfield School District and our valued manufacturer partner, Texas Instruments, we are particularly excited to support this unique grant and provide state-of-the-art TI calculators and other TI educational tools to MISD math and science classes.

“We have strived to encourage innovation and education in youth since our humble beginnings 60 years ago. By supporting STEM education, we hope to instill a passion for science, technology, engineering or math in our future mathematicians, engineers and problem solvers."

The company has previously funded grants for the Jerry Knight STEM Academy, makerspaces in high school libraries, and robotics kits for hands-on learning. This ongoing support underscores Mouser’s focus on enhancing STEM education opportunities across the district.

Jennifer Kurecka, MISD Education Foundation Director, expressed gratitude for Mouser’s contributions:

"MISD thanks Mouser Electronics for its continued generosity. Through the grants funded by Mouser, including this initiative with state-of-the-art Texas Instruments calculator products, we are able to serve hundreds of students across the district.

“By providing access to this cutting-edge technology, Mouser is fostering a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math—empowering students to build the critical skills they need to succeed in STEM careers."
