Knightscope expands campus safety with new blue light towers in Nevada

Knightscope, a company that employs robots and artificial intelligence to enhance public safety, that has secured a new contract with a Nevada college.

The agreement involves the deployment of eight K1 Blue Light Towers, which are designed to operate wirelessly using integrated solar panels. Each tower is equipped with mass notification speakers and faceplate cameras. The college will also use the Knightscope Emergency Management System (KEMS) software to monitor the towers' activity and status across the campus.

The K1 Blue Light Towers serve as an important component of emergency communications, providing one-touch access to services such as police, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS). These towers are intended for use in a variety of situations, including personal crises, medical emergencies, suspicious activity, or accidents.

The blue illuminated towers are a familiar sight on campuses and are designed to work day and night in all weather conditions. They also ensure accurate location reporting, which facilitates quick and efficient responses from emergency services.

KEMS, the cloud-based application that accompanies the Blue Light Towers, enhances the safety features by sending immediate text and email notifications whenever a help button is pressed. The application also generates automated daily email reports on the operational status of the system, reducing the need for manual testing. Clients receive real-time alerts about issues, error detection, diagnostics, and system performance statistics.
