Bromcom and Scomis unveil new ‘Centre of Excellence’ to raise the bar for MIS support in UK schools

New partnership to deliver integrated MIS consultancy and support for schools and trusts

Bromcom Computers has named education technology provider Scomis as the first official Centre of Excellence under a new program aimed at improving how schools receive support for their management information systems (MIS).

The announcement marks the start of a rollout designed to link Bromcom’s software with experienced local partners offering advisory and technical services.

Bromcom provides cloud-based MIS and finance systems used by over 5,000 schools across the UK and Europe. Scomis, based in South West England, delivers MIS support, technical infrastructure, and consultancy to schools, trusts, and local authorities. The new designation formalizes a partnership focused on enhancing service delivery through closer collaboration and integrated support.

Schools and multi-academy trusts in the region will gain access to a suite of services under the Center of Excellence model, including certified Bromcom advisors, data optimization consultancy, and direct escalation pathways to Bromcom for service alignment.

Paul Lightowlers, Joint Head of Scomis, said: “This Centre of Excellence isn’t just about software support – it’s about a synergy between two great organisations working together for the benefit of schools.”

Support framework targets integration and speed

The program includes several defined elements, such as:

  • Local support teams with contextual knowledge of schools’ needs

  • Accelerated response through trained Bromcom-certified advisors

  • Data usage reviews aligned with school improvement planning

  • Coordinated communication between Scomis and Bromcom to address service requests and roadmap feedback

Bromcom’s Center of Excellence program will expand to include additional partners, though Scomis is the first to be appointed under the model.

Mandie Kirk, Programme Lead at Bromcom, said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Scomis, who share our vision for excellence in school MIS support. Their deep roots in the education sector, combined with our innovative technology, ensure schools get the very best service.”

Webinar to introduce program to schools and trusts

A public launch event will take place online on April 25, providing an overview of the Center of Excellence initiative and introducing key team members from both Bromcom and Scomis. The session will offer further detail on what schools can expect from the model and how to engage with it.

Ali Guryel, Managing Director of Bromcom, commented: “The Centre of Excellence programme is all about raising the bar for what schools can expect from their MIS partner. With Scomis on board as our first CoE, we’re building a new standard of support – smarter, faster, and more in tune with the real-world challenges schools face.”
