ApplyBoard launches Abbie, the first AI advisor for studying abroad

ApplyBoard has launched Abbie, the world’s first AI advisor designed to assist students with studying abroad.

ApplyBoard is an international student mobility platform that helps students apply to educational institutions abroad.

Abbie, the new tool, is powered by GPT technology and was developed in collaboration with Microsoft Azure's OpenAI platform. It aims to improve the experience of students seeking education overseas by offering personalised guidance and immediate support.

Abbie addresses the challenges students face navigating the complexities of studying abroad, from selecting suitable programmes to managing application deadlines. With its comprehensive database, Abbie provides extensive information on global institutions, courses, and application procedures.

Meti Basiri, Co-Founder and CEO of ApplyBoard, stated:

"This launch represents a major milestone in ApplyBoard's mission to make education accessible to students worldwide. By harnessing the power of AI, we are revolutionising the way students navigate the complex and cumbersome study abroad landscape.

“Abbie is more than just a tool; it's a manifestation of our commitment to student success and our vision for the future of international education."

Abbie’s development utilises ApplyBoard’s extensive knowledge base, including anonymised student data, insights from the company’s proprietary resources, and detailed information about various institutions and programmes.

The information enables Abbie to provide customised advice tailored to each student's unique profile and educational goals. With advanced natural language processing capabilities, Abbie can respond to student inquiries in seconds, significantly reducing the time needed for programme matching and application processes.

"The development of Abbie is a testament to the incredible role AI will have in transforming the education sector," said Dr. Haitham Amar, Head of AI Strategy at ApplyBoard.

"By combining cutting-edge technology with ApplyBoard's deep expertise in international student mobility, we have created a tool that not only simplifies the international education process but also empowers students and recruitment agents with the insights they need to succeed, in a fraction of the time it used to take."
