University of Phoenix launches new customer service training modules for professional development

Online education provider The University of Phoenix has introduced a series of customer service training modules through its Professional Development Skills Centre, coinciding with Customer Service Week, celebrated from 7th to 11th October.

These new pathways are designed to enhance skills in customer service, focusing on improving team effectiveness and fostering a customer-centric approach within organisations.

According to the Future of Jobs Report 2023 by the World Economic Forum, "service orientation and customer service" rank as key skills in the job market. Nearly 35% of organisations highlight their significance, with over half indicating that these skills will become even more critical over the next few years, making them a priority for workforce training initiatives through to 2027.

Dr. Molly Gonzales, Director of Educational Programmes Development at the University of Phoenix, stated:

“Our new customer service skill pathways provide businesses with the tools they need to support exceptional service, enhance team performance and develop a customer-first culture that helps drive long-term success.”

New Pathways Overview

The newly launched pathways include online modules such as:

  • Business-Oriented Customer Service Development

  • Crafting Positive Customer Experiences

  • Leading and Managing Customer Service Teams

These modules are available online, providing flexible access for adult learners enabling them to develop skills at their convenience. Participants who complete the pathways will receive certifications from the University of Phoenix.

The pathways aim to assist businesses by:

  • Improving customer satisfaction and loyalty through effective service practices and communication strategies.

  • Encouraging a culture centred on customer experiences by providing leadership tools for optimising team performance.

  • Managing and aligning customer expectations to deliver efficient service outcomes.

To support tracking and recognition of employee progress, the platform offers a streamlined, accessible experience. Learners can engage with the modules on their schedule, completing them in approximately four hours, with course access available for up to a year.

Dr. Gonzales concluded,“In today’s rapidly evolving job market, customer service skills are important for workforce development, and we’re proud to offer engaging learning experiences that help employees master this important skill set.”
