Study highlights top AI tools of 2024: chatbots and creative AI lead the way

A recent study conducted by Linkee, based on a comprehensive analysis of Google Trends data, has highlighted the most popular AI tools and technologies in use today.

 The study identifies the most frequently searched AI categories and tracks the surge in interest across various AI applications, focusing on developments from July 2024.

Chatbots and AI Conversational Tools are leading the list, which amassed nearly 260 million searches. This category includes popular tools such as ChatGPT and Google AI. Notably, while receiving fewer searches compared to other tools in this category, Gemini AI showed the most significant increase in interest, with a 3150% rise in searches.

In second place are Creative AI and Design Tools, which garnered 8.5 million searches. This category, which includes tools like "AI art generators" and "midjourney," has seen the highest jump in interest, particularly with Heygen AI, which recorded a 5000% increase in searches.

The study also highlights the growing interest in Role-playing AI Chatbots, which rank third in popularity, attracting 5.7 million searches. Janitor AI, a character-based AI chatbot, has become particularly notable within this category, experiencing a 1450% increase in interest.

Educational Tools, used for research and learning, rank fourth with 4.6 million searches. Perplexity AI, an AI-powered research and conversational search engine, is leading this category with a 123% increase in interest.

Image Alteration Tools are also gaining traction, ranking fifth with 3.9 million searches. This category includes tools like "Undress ai free tools," which saw a significant 3500% increase in interest, reflecting ongoing concerns about privacy and ethical considerations in using AI.

AI Research and Analysis Tools, which support researchers in finding relevant scientific papers, rank sixth with 3.25 million searches. Scite AI, a platform known for aiding researchers, tops this category with a 52% increase in interest.

Further down the list, AI Content Creation and Marketing Tools have attracted 2.2 million searches, ranking seventh. "AI marketing tools" experienced a notable 1950% increase in searches, highlighting the growing reliance on AI in marketing strategies.

Neurodiversity Support Tools, designed to assist neurodivergent individuals with everyday tasks, rank eighth with 247,000 searches. Goblin AI, a set of simple task tools, leads this category with a 126% increase in interest.

Finally, Productivity AI Apps round out the list, attracting 62,000 searches. Calendar.ai, which helps users manage their schedules, leads this category with a 256% increase in interest.
