Protect Youth Sports Launches Updated Child Safety Training with AI Education

Protect Youth Sports has launched an updated version of its Child Safety Training program, introducing new training modules and updated resources aimed at improving background screening management in youth sports, recreational programs, and community organizations.

The revised program includes live instruction, refreshed statistics, and new content addressing AI-related safety concerns.

Key updates to the training program

The updated curriculum introduces several improvements, including:

  • Live Instruction: Training materials now feature live video recordings instead of animations to enhance engagement.

  • Updated Data and Research: Statistics and curriculum content have been refreshed to reflect the latest findings on child abuse and prevention strategies.

  • AI-Related Safety Training: New content addresses potential risks associated with emerging technologies and the exploitation of AI.

  • Reference Guides: Downloadable PDFs allow participants to continue accessing training materials after course completion.

Additionally, the staff training module has been approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services for child sexual abuse prevention. To complete the program, all staff members must pass a final quiz to receive certification.

Prevention and awareness

Tom Ellis, Executive Vice President of Protect Youth Sports, emphasized the importance of ongoing vigilance in child safety:

“These updates reinforce our collective goal to equip organizations with the industry-leading tools that enhance their ability to prevent abuse, recognize warning signs, and foster safe environments for our young athletes and communities.”

With statistics indicating that 90% of child abuse cases involve someone the child knows and trusts, the updated training aims to help organizations proactively recognize and prevent potential risks.
