Learning Pool launches AI Coach for scalable employee professional development

Learning Pool, a company specialising in learning technology, has introduced AI Coach, an on-demand tool powered by OpenAI’s GPT large language model (LLM). 

The new product is designed to help employees across all levels achieve their professional goals by offering real-time coaching based on established principles. By utilising AI, Learning Pool aims to make professional coaching scalable and accessible to all employees, overcoming the limitations of traditional coaching, which is often restricted to senior leadership due to cost and time constraints.

Scaling coaching across organisations

Professional coaching has long been recognised for its benefits, including personal development, improved performance, and enhanced organisational success. However, the high cost and scarcity of qualified coaches have historically made coaching available only to a select few, typically in leadership positions.

With the introduction of AI Coach, Learning Pool seeks to democratise coaching by making it available to all employees, regardless of their role or location. AI Coach allows employees to engage in coaching sessions by either typing or speaking into a chat interface, where they can share challenges, career goals, or questions. 

The tool can also suggest conversation starters such as "gaining a promotion" or "achieving work-life balance" to guide users in focused discussions. AI Coach generates personalised responses that reportedly help employees reflect on their current situations, explore growth options, and develop actionable plans to achieve their goals.

Expanding Learning Pool’s AI-powered solutions

AI Coach is the latest addition to Learning Pool’s growing portfolio of AI-driven products. The company has already implemented AI Conversations, which leverages artificial intelligence to simulate real-life practice scenarios for learners, with a recent focus on compliance training. Additionally, Learning Pool has introduced AI-powered translation features to its learning platform and digital adoption platform, further enhancing accessibility and user experience.

Looking ahead, Learning Pool plans to release an AI-backed assessment tool that will transform competency evaluations. This new solution, set to launch later in the year, will measure skills and behaviours through open-ended questions, providing a more comprehensive understanding of employee competencies.
