Sophos report highlights rising ransomware recovery costs in education sector

The latest report from cybersecurity company Sophos reveals the growing financial and operational strain ransomware is placing on educational institutions. 

The “State of Ransomware in Education 2024” report found that while ransomware attacks on schools and universities have dropped slightly, recovery costs have soared, leaving institutions with higher financial burdens. 

Chester Wisniewski, Field CTO at Sophos, remarked:

“Unfortunately, schools, universities and other educational institutions are targets that are beholden to municipalities, communities and the students themselves, which inherently creates high pressure situations if they are hit and destabilised by ransomware."


Hippocratic AI and Adtalem collaborate to launch AI and healthcare training curriculum

Hippocratic AI, a company focused on building the first safety-oriented Large Language Model for healthcare, has partnered with Adtalem Global Education to develop a specialised curriculum to train clinicians on the use of AI in healthcare, equipping professionals with the necessary skills to evaluate, utilise, and supervise AI tools in clinical settings.

Reading Horizons unveils new K-3 Discovery Product Suite for foundational reading success

Dr Scott Zoldi, Chief Analytics Officer at FICO, highlighted the importance of diverse perspectives in the development of responsible AI and data science:
