Coventry University opens India Hub in New Delhi to strengthen academic and industry partnerships
Coventry University Group has launched its new India Hub in New Delhi, expanding its global presence and strengthening its ties with Indian organizations.
The hub, located at HT House in Connaught Place near the British Council, will focus on supporting the university’s recruitment, admissions, and partnership efforts in India and neighboring regions.
The India Hub, which employs around 70 staff, will work to foster new and existing collaborations between Coventry University and Indian organizations in academia, government, and industry.
It will also facilitate research partnerships, building on existing connections with institutions such as the Indian Institute of Technology-Ropar, Vellore Institute of Technology, and MOHAN Foundation.
Professor John Latham CBE, Vice-Chancellor and Group CEO of Coventry University, highlighted the strategic importance of the new hub, stating:
“Coventry University’s forward-thinking international approach brings fantastic benefits to our organization and to those we work with across the globe. Our new India Hub is already playing a key part in enhancing our global presence and we hope it will lead to some exciting collaborations in the region.”
The office design, created by Coventry University’s interior architecture and design students, reflects a combination of Indian cultural elements and the university’s branding. Future collaborations facilitated by the hub are being explored in areas such as aviation and healthcare.
Leena Kukreja, Regional Managing Director of Coventry University Group’s India Hub, emphasized the institution’s long-term commitment to partnerships in India, stating:
“This is a special day for Coventry University Group and it marks a deep, enduring commitment to building and expanding meaningful partnerships with India's industry, academia, and government. By aligning its strategic initiatives with India's national priorities, Coventry University will continue to drive measurable global impact for decades to come.”
The hub’s launch event was attended by senior university leaders and officials from the UK and Indian governments, including representatives from the British Council.
Michael Houlgate, Deputy Director India at the British Council, remarked on the hub’s potential to enhance international collaboration:
“Developments like this help create an environment in which collaboration between our two countries can flourish and will allow universities, academics and students in UK and India to engage internationally more effectively.”
This marks the latest addition to Coventry University Group’s international network, which already includes hubs in Brussels, Africa, China, and Singapore.
