CK-12 Foundation launches AI Tutor Flexi on WhatsApp to support Indian students

CK-12 Foundation has introduced Flexi, an AI tutoring assistant, on WhatsApp throughout India.

Flexi, available in over 300 languages and dialects, is designed to support students by integrating CK-12’s curriculum with ChatGPT4 technology.

Flexi is designed to integrate seamlessly with WhatsApp, the most popular messaging app in India with over 400 million users. This AI assistant offers functionalities such as solving maths problems, explaining concepts, and providing study tips.

Powered by advanced natural language processing algorithms, Flexi can understand student messages and respond appropriately. It aims to provide accurate and relevant assistance tailored to each student's needs.

The AI tutor also continuously improves its responses through machine learning, analysing student interactions and feedback to deliver more precise and tailored assistance.

Students across India can access Flexi by adding it to their WhatsApp contacts using the number +91 72042 28312. Flexi is also available on mobile devices, computers, and tablets.

Neeru Khosla, Executive Director and Founder of CK-12, explained the motivation behind this initiative:

“My parents always made sure, regardless of our financial situation, that me, my sister, and my brother received the best education. Even when we could only afford to eat dahl and rice at the end of the month, our education always took priority. I created CK-12 and Flexi so money would never, ever be a barrier to a quality education to any child in the world.”

CK-12 Foundation, founded in 2012, is a nonprofit organisation dedicated to improving student learning outcomes by providing free, high-quality educational resources. The foundation aims to make education more equitable and accessible globally through its adaptable and personalised learning platforms.
