Champlain College taps Anthropic partnership to embed AI across curriculum

Champlain College, based in the United States, has announced a partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic, giving students, faculty, and staff access to Claude Pro, the company’s AI assistant.
The arrangement applies to both on-campus and online learners and will be implemented by the end of March.
Under the agreement, Champlain and Anthropic will work together on AI-related classroom applications and research focused on education and workforce development.
Classroom implementation and applied student projects
Faculty members will incorporate Claude into course activities designed to help students address practical challenges using AI tools. Initial projects include a digital forensics class using Claude to document cybercrime investigations and a student research group analyzing environmental sound data to monitor natural changes.
The college has indicated that applications of AI are being explored across several academic areas, including business, cybersecurity, and the humanities.
Research collaboration and AI literacy training
Beyond classroom use, Champlain and Anthropic will collaborate on research connected to AI’s role in education and economic development. The partnership includes a joint effort to examine how AI influences workforce readiness and the role of human-centered skills in a changing employment landscape.
To support campus-wide adoption, Anthropic will lead an introductory workshop titled “Claude 101” on March 28. The event is scheduled as part of AI Literacy Day and will offer guidance on how to use the assistant effectively.
Longer-term focus on graduate preparedness
Champlain College president Alex Hernandez said the college is aligning with industry shifts by incorporating AI into student learning experiences.
Alex Hernandez said:
“AI is changing what it means to be Ready for Work and, as a future-focused college, Champlain is giving students opportunities to use AI so they can hit the ground running when they graduate. The Anthropic collaboration is fueling a new wave of innovations at Champlain College, giving us an opportunity to learn lessons that can benefit all higher education.”
