BG Titan Group and Veea partner to enhance internet access in North Africa

BG Titan Group (BGT) and Veea have announced a strategic partnership to improve internet connectivity and provide essential services to underserved communities in North Africa.

The collaboration will extend reliable internet access through local and regional service providers. Veea's virtual Broadband Access (vTBA) platform will be implemented, designed to deliver cost-effective, secure, high-quality internet access. The initiative is expected to bridge the digital divide in remote and underserved areas of North Africa, facilitating access to education, healthcare, and various other services.

Local ISPs will be able to extend their coverage using Veea Edge Platform products, which offer seamless connectivity solutions over managed Wi-Fi without the significant investment required for traditional infrastructure.

The partnership will prioritise internet connectivity for educational institutions in remote areas, transforming rural schools into digital learning hubs. Schools will gain reliable internet access, enabling students and teachers to utilise online learning resources in real-time or through cached educational content on VeeaHub units to support distance learning.

Veea and BGT are also focusing on developing telehealth and telemedicine services. These services can expand access to healthcare in rural areas, reducing challenges such as transportation for specialty care.

AI-driven virtual consultations will support local healthcare professionals in making timely and accurate decisions. Additionally, machine learning algorithms will assist in early disease detection and community health assessments, enabling proactive interventions.

Food security is a critical issue in North Africa, exacerbated by extreme weather events. Veea Edge Platform increases crop yields through data-driven farming using sensors, imagery, and AI.

Allen Salmasi, CEO of Veea, added, “Veea Edge Platform is the Swiss Army knife of digital transformation. It's not just about providing internet access. We deploy a mesh network of VeeaHub smart computing devices that bring the power of edge computing with edge applications, IoT integration, and AI directly to unserved communities that have been unable to benefit from the rapid technological advancements realized by those with broadband access.”

“This collaboration sets a new standard for the infrastructure development of a profitable realisation of social and public safety services, business productivity and regional sustainability objectives,” stated Aymen Boughanmi, CEO of BGT.

“The rapid technological advancements, supported by a wealth of AI models at the edge, will bridge dreams and aspirations of those living in unserved and underserved communities to an era of unprecedented opportunity and growth.”
