MCA has awarded a $50,000 research grant to Alexander Kashkarian, a senior at San Diego State University (SDSU) Fowler College of Business, to support his work in predictive analytics.

The provider of data centre solutions and predictive maintenance technology has recognised Kashkarian’s skills in big data analysis and his potential to advance MCA’s AI Predictive Maintenance Tool, MCA.ai.

The tool aims to improve the reliability of aging systems in critical sectors such as healthcare and commercial enterprises.

Kashkarian’s research will focus on developing solutions that leverage historical data to predict equipment failures in enterprise data centres.

His work is expected to help improve MCA’s algorithms and drive future advancements in predictive analytics, which will be applied to minimise downtime for businesses reliant on aging infrastructure.

“I’m really excited and grateful to be awarded this grant, which will give me the opportunity to dive into important research on equitable access to data centre hardware and the funding needed to make it happen.

“I want to extend my thanks to my sponsors for their support. I look forward to applying my findings to future studies as I pursue my MBA and integrate these principles into my career. This experience will also be invaluable as I plan to launch my own business one day,” Kashkarian said.

Driving predictive analytics in underserved markets

MCA’s investment in Kashkarian’s research is part of a broader effort to improve the reliability of aging systems in sectors such as healthcare, aerospace, and military—industries where consistent operation is critical.

The company’s AI-driven Predictive Maintenance Tool, MCA.ai, uses advanced algorithms and historical data to predict potential equipment failures, helping organisations prevent unexpected downtime.

Paul Makhail, CEO of MCA Corporation, emphasised the importance of this research in underserved markets:

"We look forward to the results of this important research; by identifying clients with a higher likelihood of equipment failure, we can tailor our managed care solutions to meet their specific needs to extend the life of their current programmes.

“In underserved markets where data centre funding may be limited, we are committed to offering additional discounts and manufacturer credits to ensure equitable access to our reliable data centre solutions.”
