In a heartwarming celebration of academic achievement, ALSAC, the fundraising organisation for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, recently honoured the graduation of 83 high school seniors from the Fervent Family Programme.

The Fervent Family Programme is a community-focused initiative in the USA, aimed at advancing life skills for local high school students.

This free programme, led by ALSAC employees and supported by community partners such as Peer Power Foundation and Pleasant View School, offers workshops on a range of topics including financial literacy, healthcare navigation, self-care, public speaking, leadership, relationship building, and business planning.

Annette Green, Chief People Officer for ALSAC, said:

“ALSAC believes deeply in giving back and that spirit of service is reflected in our core values. We are grateful to be able to offer initiatives like the Fervent Families Program where we can serve communities where we live and work.”

The programme saw participation from students of Pleasant View School, Raleigh-Egypt, Melrose.

Nisreen Alrabhie from Pleasant View School, stated:

“The Fervent Families Programme is important because it has helped guide me through every aspect of life and discover new things about myself. It’s helped me gain self-confidence and equipped me with everything I need to become successful in life.”

ALSAC's employees volunteer to develop curricula and conduct workshops. The sessions provide experiential learning opportunities that support students' cognitive, socio-emotional, and technical skills, as well as their physical and mental health.

The curriculum is designed to help students transition successfully into adulthood and thrive in their future careers.

Since its launch in 2021, the Fervent Family Programme has reached over 643 students. It is open to junior and senior high school students who are actively involved in school or community programmes.
