FDM Group and UiPath team up to develop next generation of automation talent

FDM Group, a global business and technology consultancy, has teamed up with UiPath, an enterprise automation and AI software company, to develop new talent in automation and artificial intelligence.

The collaboration will focus on equipping workers with the skills needed to harness the potential of AI and automation technologies.

According to UiPath’s 2024 Global Worker Survey, half of the workers surveyed said their companies have not provided training or guidelines on using generative AI (GenAI). For companies implementing GenAI, 42% of workers reported saving an average of 10 or more hours each week.

Through this partnership, FDM will leverage UiPath’s Digital Credentials Programme to help customers and partners across UiPath’s global ecosystem find talent with demonstrated abilities in automation and AI.

FDM, known for its investment in talent development, supports training through its Skills Lab and Practices-based model.

Upskilling for a changing workforce

FDM’s commitment to talent creation is supported by an annual investment of £25 million into training and skills development. The company’s partnership with UiPath will support specialised upskilling for apprentices, graduates, ex-forces personnel, and returners to work.

Training will be delivered through FDM’s Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, Change & Transformation Practices, and UiPath’s accredited Skills Lab coaches.

“AI and automation offer organisations an opportunity to boost productivity and efficiency at a rate we haven’t seen before, and this is something that needs to be harnessed,” said Andy Brown, COO at FDM Group. “To maximise the benefits of these technologies, organisations must prioritise upskilling and reskilling for staff.”

As automation becomes more integral to business operations, the demand for a workforce skilled in automation technologies continues to grow. FDM’s programme, in partnership with UiPath, aims to address this need by equipping workers with the skills required to implement automation solutions. This collaboration will connect businesses with talent ready to contribute to project deliveries and promote diversity in the tech workforce.

UiPath’s Digital Credentials Programme plays a key role in this initiative, allowing individuals to gain certification in automation technologies and increase their employability across various industries. The programme will also support businesses looking to future-proof their operations by creating a pipeline of skilled automation professionals.

“FDM’s Skills Lab Programme combined with UiPath’s Digital Credentials Programme allows us to extend our impact by equipping individuals with the skills needed to navigate and thrive in the evolving tech landscape,” said John Kelleher, AVP UK & Ireland at UiPath. “Together, we aim to connect businesses with skilled talent to help them achieve greater efficiency and growth through innovative automation solutions.”

The partnership between FDM and UiPath represents a broader effort across industries to bridge the digital skills gap by providing individuals with the tools and training they need to thrive in a tech-driven economy.

“We are excited to be working with UiPath to bridge the ever-growing digital skills gap, creating a tech-proficient workforce, empowering staff to shape development and implement solutions for our clients and partners,” Brown concluded.
