PowerSchool introduces MyPowerHub for improved school communications

PowerSchool, a provider of cloud-based software for K-12 education in the USA, has introduced MyPowerHub, a new platform designed to streamline school communications and enhance parental engagement.

The platform consolidates essential tools for parents, offering a unified and user-friendly interface in time for the 2024-2025 school year.

MyPowerHub offers a unified interface that allows parents to access all essential platforms used across the district through a single login. This includes graphical tiles that display grades, attendance, assignments, fees, directories, and two-way messaging, providing a comprehensive view of student information. The platform ensures data privacy and security by complying with GDPR, COPPA, and FERPA standards.

The platform is set to support over 120 languages by the end of 2024, catering to diverse communities. Its mobile application includes voice navigation, improving usability for parents on the move. Additionally, the PowerBuddy integration provides personalised support and timely information through natural language interactions, enabling parents to inquire about grades and attendance without navigating multiple reports or app screens.

Shivani Stumpf, Chief Product and Innovation Officer at PowerSchool, highlighted the platform's impact:

"We are thrilled to introduce MyPowerHub, which embodies our commitment to enriching the experience for all stakeholders involved in a student’s educational journey. By providing this comprehensive view – a single pane of glass – we are simplifying communication and access to vital information, making it easier for students, parents, and educators to stay connected and informed."

Survey data indicates that 70% of parents currently use two to six different systems to access their child's educational information, leading to frustration and inefficiency. MyPowerHub addresses this by integrating these workflows into a single platform, reducing the need for multiple logins and interfaces. The platform combines newsfeeds, calendars, directories, and messaging with numerous essential district platforms.

Shivani Stumpf further elaborated, "This proactive approach significantly enhances parental engagement and nurtures a vibrant, collaborative partnership between home and school, setting a new standard in educational transparency, engagement, and support."
