MDPI expands ResearchGate partnership to 200 open access journals

MDPI’s CEO, Stefan Tochev.

MDPI, a fully open access publisher, has expanded its partnership with ResearchGate, increasing the number of MDPI journals on the platform from 10 to 200.

The agreement follows a year-long pilot program and provides access to 1.5 million version-of-record research and review articles.

Increased accessibility for research

Under the partnership, MDPI journals will have dedicated profiles on ResearchGate’s platform. Articles will be accessible through associated pages and touchpoints within the ResearchGate network.

The integration includes automatic updates for authors, allowing them to track readership and citation data.

ResearchGate, which has a network of over 25 million researchers, will facilitate broader access to MDPI’s open access content. The partnership aligns with both organizations' objectives to improve the visibility of academic research.

Stefan Tochev, CEO of MDPI, said:

“The pilot program with ResearchGate exceeded our expectations, providing a valuable service for our authors while increasing the discoverability of their work. This expanded agreement underscores our mutual dedication to empowering the academic community and amplifying the reach of open access content.”
