Bett UK 2024: expectations for world's top EdTech event

Bett UK 2024, the world's largest EdTech exhibition, is set to host 'Ahead by Bett', a prominent forum in the higher education sector. The event is expected to draw over 30,000 participants.

The 'Ahead by Bett' Auditorium will be the focal point for discussions on emerging trends in higher education, particularly the impact of artificial intelligence and the necessity of upskilling for future workforce demands. The forum will feature a series of talks by industry experts, fireside chats, and peer discussions.

Among the speakers will be Dr Suzanna Tomassi, a Higher Education Specialist from the UK Department for International Trade, and Dr Rose Luckin, a UCL Professor and Founder of EDUCATE Ventures, who will discuss the ethical application of AI in education.

The programme will also include sessions on various other critical themes in higher education. Tasha Ghouri, a former Love Island contestant, entrepreneur, and deafness advocate, will participate in a fireside chat with Dr Ally Zlatar, discussing student wellbeing and inclusivity in education. Discussions will also cover topics like the Fifth Industrial Revolution, national policy, apprenticeships, and Lifelong Loan Entitlement.

Day two of the event will focus on innovation and leadership in conflict zones, featuring a panel including Dr. Yevhen Kudriavets from Ukraine's Ministry of Education and Science, among others. Day three will see talks by Hayley Mulenda, on redefining higher education for future job markets and a panel on diversity and inclusion in universities.

The Sandbox, will showcase case studies and practical applications of technology in education. @Dr Nina Huntemann from Chegg will highlight the potential of AI in personalised learning assistance.

Other notable figures at Bett UK 2024 will include Dame Darcey Bussell DBE, promoting arts in education, Rt Hon Gillian Keegan MP, the UK's Secretary of State for Education, and Louis Theroux, interviewing British rapper Loyle Carner on social inclusion in education. Discussions will also feature Alex Scott MBE on resilience and bias and Baroness Floella Benjamin's experience in children's TV.

Bett UK 2024 will introduce 'TableTalks', a peer-to-peer discussion platform, and 'Tech User Labs' for practical tech advice aimed at enhancing educators' tech adoption and purchasing expertise.
