IXL Learning expands portfolio with acquisition of Carson Dellosa Education

IXL Learning has announced its acquisition of Carson Dellosa Education, a publisher of educational materials for teachers and families.

Carson Dellosa Education, known for products like Spectrum workbooks and Summer Bridge Activities, will now operate under the umbrella of IXL Learning.

Paul Mishkin, CEO of IXL Learning, highlighted the acquisition's significance:

"Carson Dellosa Education's exceptional products, rich history, and passion for putting students first make it an ideal partner for IXL. We look forward to supporting Carson Dellosa's mission to empower educators and families so they can ignite a love of learning in students."

Founded nearly five decades ago in Greensboro, North Carolina, Carson Dellosa was established by educators Patty Carson and Janet Dellosa. The company has produced educational materials that support learning in both home and school environments.

Its Summer Bridge Activities workbooks are designed to ‘combat summer learning loss’ with quick exercises. The series also includes apps for iOS and Android, providing gamified learning experiences.

Spectrum, another key product line, has over 100 titles of K-8 workbooks that are aligned with Common Core, all 50 U.S. state standards, and Canadian educational standards.

The acquisition is set to expand IXL Learning's range of print resources, complementing its existing digital products. IXL’s offerings include the K-8 Ultimate Math Workbooks and Rosetta Stone’s Picture Dictionaries.

Kelly Stone Geer, CEO of Carson Dellosa Education, commented on the acquisition:

"We are delighted to be joining forces with such a well-known and respected name in education. Reinforcing essential skills with tactile materials broadens learning opportunities and empowers children to thrive. By combining our strengths, we can offer a more holistic approach to education that makes learning fun wherever it happens."
