Huddle Up Rebrand and Series C Funding Propel Expansion in Educational Mental Health Services

DotCom Therapy, a provider of online therapy services, has announced its rebranding to Huddle Up after completing a Series C funding round. The funding round was led by Kayne Anderson Growth Capital and included contributions from New Capital Partners, LRV Health, HealthX Ventures, and OSF Ventures. The company stated that the new funds would expand its presence in K-12 schools and other areas.

The rebrand to Huddle Up marks a strategic shift towards broadening the company's digital health services, which support the mental health and educational development of children and adolescents. These services include implementing Individualised Education Programs (IEP), 504 Plans, Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies, and comprehensive mental health solutions for students in school and home settings.

Robert Shilton, Managing Director at Kayne Anderson Growth Capital, who led the investment in Huddle Up stated:

""We believe Huddle Up is uniquely positioned to go beyond traditional means of supporting the growth, development, and mental health needs of children through an innovative, technology enabled care model that improves access, clinical collaboration, and outcomes."

Huddle Up's approach includes the virtualisation of services and a collaborative model designed to enhance engagement, compliance, and satisfaction among students, educators, and families.

Domonique Alexander, Director of Special Education in Fort Smith, Arkansas, commented on the effectiveness of Huddle Up's services, saying:

"We love the level of care Huddle Up delivers, and the way students engage and respond. Huddle Up offers more extensive support for the community, such as training for staff, parent outreach and resources – you just don't get that with any other provider. As a result, students and families are engaged, and care is more effective."

Huddle Up has delivered over 900,000 therapy sessions and evaluations, serving children and adolescents across all 50 states in the US and partnering with more than 25 health plans, including Medicaid.

The company's services are designed to support a wide range of needs within the special education sector, from speech therapy and occupational therapy to school psychology and broader mental health services.

"At Huddle Up, we believe that every child should have the opportunity to have growth, development, and mental health support in school," said Dr. Omar Dawood, CEO and Board Member of Huddle Up.

"We are humbled to have the continued support of our existing investors and the new partnership with a leading growth equity investor in Kayne Anderson as we expand our leadership in IEP transformation and impact to all students.

“The Huddle Up brand reinforces our commitment to creating lasting change in the lives of young individuals and their communities."
