EE launches inaugural Learn Live Festival: empowering youth with EdTech
EE is set to launch its first EE Learn Live festival at 180 Strand in London, an event aimed at redefining educational experiences for secondary school students aged 11-16 and their guardians on Thursday, 15th February.
This festival of learning, hosted by EE, is designed to showcase the potential of combining technology and education in innovative ways. Through the integration of edtech, EE Learn Live aims to highlight how digital tools and platforms can enhance the learning experience for secondary school students.
It will feature a series of workshops and demonstrations led by a diverse group of well known figures, including England’s men’s football manager Gareth Southgate and former English football player Fara Williams. The sessions aim to provide insights into emotional and social skills development, with a focus on the impact of sports in personal and group environments.
Stacey Dooley, TV presenter and journalist, will host the event. Among the highlights is the "Gaming to Grow" workshop, which includes contributions from Sidemen’s Tobi Brown, esports star Spencer (GIANTX), and Elz the Witch, a presenter, YouTuber, and gamer. This session will explore the educational benefits of gaming, demonstrating how gaming can develop a set of valuable life skills.
Additionally, the "Master Wellbeing" session, featuring Emily English, a nutritionist and wellness and fitness expert, Shakira Akabusi, aims to provide practical advice on improving health and wellbeing. Other workshops will cover topics such as confidence building, future planning, and the integration of drama into personal development, with speakers including actors and BAFTA Young Presenters Award 2023 winners Braydon Bent & Precious Assah and entrepreneur Deborah Meaden.
The festival also offers opportunities for attendees to interact directly with the speakers. The event will also showcase resources from the Calm wellness app and the latest technology from partners like Meta and Samsung.
The sessions have been designed to cater to specific age groups - young teens (11–12-year-olds), mid-teens (13–14-year-olds), and older teens (15–16-year-olds).
For those unable to attend the festival in person, EE will provide a live stream on its YouTube channel and make bite-sized skills content available for download through EE LearnSmart.
Tickets are available for £5 per person through the website. The event's proceeds will support Home-Start, a UK charity dedicated to helping families with young children.
